thefensarefarbutistillgo 2,481
This was my first coursing bred dog about 24 years ago, he was out January jack, look how straight his back legs are I don’t like them like that probably why he was so slow, I like a good bit of angulation on the back legs I think I gives speed and power, look at a hares back legs there nearly folded in half most time I’m sure that’s why a hare is so fast for its size it all about leverage 5 Quote Link to post

I get you our point over the straight back end I was always told the shorter the distance between back foot heel and bottom of the back hock the better the the dog but really the better the old boys felt they were physically able to pull one over you probably know at a guess from your posts that it’s all about heart nothing else and the buzzing of being a 3/3 man is more about the course than the kill that’s what they’ll never understand anyone the actually slip the more turns the better the always putting the hare before your dog in a bet but it learning every time your out they think that a three min video means it shit but I appreciate it now that that’s are dog settling in and behind it’s arse every time 1 Quote Link to post

eastcoast 4,081
I think that I have posted these photographs before on THL, even sadder it was not even my lurcher. One of the 1st that I seen worked though. So many pictures get lost or damaged or loaned and never returned. Even taking them was a faff on. Making the conscience decision to take a camera. Getting the film developed and prints made. Only to find out most of the exposures were crap How much easier is it now? A digital camera always in the pocket on the phone. Anyway, a nice, quiet and honest bitch that earned her keep for a friend. Circa 1985. 3 Quote Link to post
chartpolski 22,942
Double bred Bilko dog, equally at home on track or field. Sadly shot by a 'keeper when running a hare; Bitch sired by Bilko, out of a Greyhound bitch. Fastest I've ever seen on a track and up to a hare, Both early 70's. Cheers.
