Guest RobW71
You sometimes find when using a smoker, rats would sooner ball up and choke to death rather than bolt. Regards Rob Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Any body still use ferrets for ratting?what ive found in the past is that a place ferretted never recovers as quick as when using the engines. The stink of ferrets must linger a lot longer than the fumes!.WE have found that after smoking , and the bolting is over ,if you move on to the next warren and then return after doing that, the rats that refused to bolt will have bottled up in stop ends and the dogs can mark them for you to dig with no fear of a terrier being overcome by fumes as Ive seen more than a few times.good hunting. foxdropper. Guest RobW71
I don't like using smokers, noisey and unhealthy for the terriers that insist on sticking their snouts down the holes. A mate has an older hob were going to try. Regards Rob Quote Link to post
landy 0
yeah [bANNED TEXT] i use a couple of hobs for ratting Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Are those the long greyhound type hobs?personnel choice I suppose but the jills are smaller, faster and Idont want to put you off but I once had a hob return with his knackers half off!. Decent ratting ferrets are like the terrier that stays to his quarry week after week. Quote Link to post
