Just my luck

Recommended Posts

January best time of year for me.

this year old lurcher out of equation and my little

foxing terrier has broke down.

to top it off my new edition is lame.

thought she’d just knocked herself up bushing like a maniac but on closer  inspection she had a shard of glass

in her pad on left back leg.

she’s a beddy x mongrel .

is there owt to treat it with except the obvious keep clean etc.

nasty cut the inner looks like it’s ‘oozed ‘ out of pad.

I’ve enough antibiotics etc etc to start a vet practice but not sure wether to leave it or treat it.

Pads take an age to heal as they have to heal from the inside out. if its not hot or swollen then leave off the anti biotics, Just keep it clean and keep an eye on it, glue and all that is a not worth bothering with on a pad.

just make sure there's nothing left in there and keep it clean mate, give the dog  some  anti-inflammatories....if the bitch isn't walking /putting weight on it after 2/3 days,it starts to smell/feel hot then get a second opinion ?

Cheers … it’s clean and not infected.

Like Paulus said, will take a few weeks to heal properly...my bitch cut  just behind her main pad on her front paw full length of it,start of last yr,bought a stack of vet wrap from eBay,kept it clean and used super glue, leaving a little bit to allow the wound to weep...bitch was cleaning it too, surprising how quickly it healed tbf,dry weather and for 2 weeks,I was vet wrapping it,for our walks, checking it hadn't spit...flying around like a nutter again within a month?
