Was at the trapping convention and asked my buggy who has a few kids about it. Guy calls his five year old over and says " what did daddy teach you about gators ?" Kid says " if it looks like a gator might be around don't go f***ing with it or he'll eat my ass " I mean shit that's what my parents did with me. Would walk all round hell half acre with a bb gun and no supervision. Dad showed me pictures of various venomous snakes and the like and would just say " aight ya dumb ass gets but by one of these you ain't gonna make it back to the house ,ya ass is gonna die ,and we'll probably find you with the help of some buzzards, so pay attention " Was your dad a hunting, shooting and fishing type of person like you or did you pick it up yourself? O yeah dad does most what I do except trapping , trapping is my thing . He grew up on a farm so was always messing with stuff then the army so you know he'd go off and live in the woods for a few days for drill.funny enough I ended up doing the same. Hell ends up my last company commander was under him for a while....talk about akward He always thought it was good to get kids out. That and apparently a great grandad of mine said something about me when I was a baby and it cam true I guess So he'd always be taking us fishing and walking around....I'll tell you one of the old man's favorite things was to say ok where going hunting.....yeah ok more like a 5mile ruck march friggen 10yr freezing my ass off walking behind him with my little .410, good times though Lotta times during season I'd wake up to find him just walking back up to the house with his .22lr and 5-10 squirrels. And before that he'd take me and my brothers down in the bottom part of the cow pastures where there where all these little slews and micro swamps basically. Have us catching frogs and lizards and all sorts of crap. And hell he'd just randomly bring home little critters for us. One time he brought a baby snapping turtle and was just like " well he was in the middle of the road so here go make him a tank and we'll keep him till he's bigger " That and since he's a science teacher he was always bringing this and that to the school. Different skulls , animals parts ECT. Hell I can't go a week usually without seeing someone taught and then telling me a story about how he showed them how to gut a fish or whatever in class And side note on that let me tell you how much of a bumbfuck nowhere country place I live. Did culinary arts for my last year if highschool for a votech class . As soon as people heard I was in the cooking class we would have guys popping in with racoons and deer and shit asking " hay heard Mr.Mcdowell's son was here.... Y'all think you could let him cook this ? " He has slowed down a bit in his age though. And he has his way of doing everything which where constantly butting heads over( like I'm all into reloading shooting tiny groups building my own AR's....and he's just like, "can it hit the boiler room of a deer ? Yeah ? Perfect! ...drives me nuts ) but he's one of the main reasons I'm do all thai stuff I do. I'm pretty lucky though...not many kids in my... situation have the same, not many at all Edited January 5, 2023 by Wolfdog91 18

But yeah chicken with a bit of a fish taste is the best way to describe it. Haven't don't much hunting lately but hogs, coon, coyotes, red and grey fox, dove, pigeon, crows, starlings ,haven't killed a deer yet but they don't really interested me very much for some reason. Trap a few different varieties of turtles. Run coon dogs with my buddy. Hog dogs a few times..still need to get one with some deer and rabbit dog guys that seems fun. Got some freinds heavy I to water fowl , ducks, geese, and the like but somthing about standing waster deep in a swamp in the dead of winter .....eh But compared to alot of my friends I don't do much at all. Really just trying to get a new job right now so I can hear up the way I want. New truck ,thermal better gear ect... Sometimes I think drugs and hookers would be a cheaper hobby then the outdoors

Get your girlfriend into shooting they said. It's great they said..... Just dropped probably $600 on a .22lr setup for her Christmas present and she's burned though about $40 of ammo so far I'm just hoping she says content with targets because I don't make enough for a taxidermist Edited January 5, 2023 by Wolfdog91

Rooter style doors arent really locked like say a guillotine door. ALOT of people like them because one their triggered more hogs can just push their way in but not out Rooter door bing the one on the right That being said..... A gator that size could probably bite a hole in a cage like like if it really wanted to The design reminds me of a Harry Houdini escape. Houdini once had himself locked into a huge, walk_ in safe. It was the most sophisticated safe available. After a few hours he emerged, soaked in sweat and was given huge applause. What he didn't tell the audience, was that to get out, he simply used the inside door handle. The inside door handle was designed to let out anybody who accidentally locked themselves in to get out again. The security aspects of the safe were to stop people getting into the safe. Not the other way round.
