Is there any one on here who is  a dry stone waller by trade I am after getting in to a learning and potentially gain a qualification. There's is miles of the stuff round me and I've always fancied a go at it

I've done quite a bit over the years. Never got any qualifications though. Just field walls around the west Pennine moors, done quite a bit around the reservoirs for UU. Just find a local waller and see if they need help. Or find some farms and just give it ago. Some areas do really neat walling, gardens often want more technical stuff as well but doing gaps in field walls is fairly self explanatory

My old man’s a waller still at it full time at 79?

when I was younger I did a couple of tests through this lot, it was the sort of acceptable standard 30year ago and you could get on there trades list… there were other groups formed round where I live as a lot of the blokes didn’t agree with some stuff.. won’t go into it?
