Do you think the 66 England team could survive a season in the premiership without being relegated? I think it would be close. Maybe if they packed in drinking and smoking and  ate/trained to the  modern game. They would need at least 6 months  to adapt to modern tactics. Hurst and J Charlton would  definitely struggle imo. I don't know if you've ever watched  the cup final back? The marking is comical. Having said that Moore, B Charlton and Peters were class players and another incredible talent, Greavsie, was benched.

I know it's a daft question really, but I watched  the final through a month or so back and it was like watching a different game  compared to the super skilled modern game we have now.

I remember watching the 66 game live but I didn't realise what an achievement it was at the time. I knew it was huge game but I thought it was because we were playing Germany only 21 years after the war. Looking back, it was treated as quite a low key affair, but then interest in the game has exploded since then.

No, they would get destroyed !

The way we've treated Moyse is f****n disgusting....im not against a new manager it probably is the right time but theres ways of doing things and the man deserves respect and a good send off yet we'v

West Ham fans in town all day and not a murmur until wives/families get attacked by " ultras " at the game itself.....embarrassing !! There was a handful of chaps on each stairwell stopping them

My Hammers will struggle this year ,some fans want Moyse gone but personally i cant see the point we have a manager thats proved he can improve the club, owners willing to throw money at it.....at what

To my untrained eye they have looked over the last two games like there was a lack of energy or like any urgency in there passing  even when they went behind they are playing Malta and Moldova at the end of the day and a one point even going in to the opposition half were playing the ball more back to pickford than rashford or wakins im not expecting to roll teams six seven nil every game but given the level of opposition and the team he had out I would of thought they would of made things a bit easier  for themselves over those 2 games

Was the group already won ?…..if it was, then there’s is your answer mate

I think you don't even need to look that far back to see how much the game has changed and lots of absolutely quality players wouldn't stand a chance with the pace of the game now, Merson, Le Tissier, waddle, Anderson, even players like Sheringham (one of my favourite) would struggle with the style and lace in my opinion, players from early eras wouldn't stand a chance imo... although not as old as you I'm nostalgic for sure, and like many think "it was better in my day", but truth is even "average" players today are far fitter, quicker and drilled/trained better than those of yester year.... I do however wonder if the talent of Moore, Best, Charlton, Peters etc would still gave been enough with modern training/methods...you can only imagine yes

To be honest I didn't watch the Malta game and only 2nd half of Moldova, they were no more than friendlies really mate...but get your point, and it can be infuriating watching Premier league stars struggling against bin men! Lol

Yes I get we were already through but given the level of talent we have in every position surely some of theses lads would of thought I have to be in that squad come the tournament and starting so I have to turn up tonight and show up not go through the motions  but we're through

I made a deal with myself last year to watch as many Newcastle games as possible as I believe, on a personal level, I will witness something probably never to be seen again in my life time no matter what possible success may lie in the future. Today's game personified that. New big money signings doing what they were brought in to do juxtaposed with players who were already here prior to the new money playing football unlike anyone thought that they capable of playing. Great to watch. And an assist from a 17 year old academy product, a kid playing with no fear infront of 50,000+ at home. Lovely.

PS - all of the Chelsea players had long sleeves and most were wearing gloves. To a man all of our players had short sleeves with Pope being the only one wearing gloves. It's only November.

Milan just broke the record for their youngest ever player to play in a Seire A game, 15 year old Carmarda !

He beats Paulo Maldini as Milan’s youngest ever player !

If your are good enough you’re old enough !

Is that the lad from Galway Utd mate ?

No, mate, that’s Alex Murphy, 19 year old. Came off the bench last night for Miggy Almiron and did well.

The two Miley brothers that play for Newcastle are English,

We’ve got some good home grown talent coming through the Academy and have invested big money for promising youngsters and sent them straight out on loan, there’s one doing well for Ajax.

My neighbours son Max Thompson , Is a good goalkeeper and has played England youth and under 18’s has been sent to Northampton to get game time.

Cheers.
