I agree we should stick with him. In the past we've always done that, it's only since Fergie retired that we have chopped and changed and the results haven't improved. People say Fergie only kept his job because Mark Robins scored and we won a cup. Otherwise he would have been out.

I'm not sure Ten Hag's recruitment has been great so far though. Excluding the Madrid pair who have a lot of miles on the clock. Others say give them time_ some of them are just babies. But Garnacho is a kid and apart from Bruno, I think he's our best player. We won plenty with kids in the past. Antony is a big disappointment for me.

There’s something missing isn’t there . It’s there on paper and it’s there as a squad . It’s just missing something to click .

I think it’s up top where the problem is really . There’s a lack of a player who you know , regardless how the rest play , he Will definitely get a chance and bury it . Been like that a while now at o t imho

The way we've treated Moyse is f****n disgusting....im not against a new manager it probably is the right time but theres ways of doing things and the man deserves respect and a good send off yet we'v

West Ham fans in town all day and not a murmur until wives/families get attacked by " ultras " at the game itself.....embarrassing !! There was a handful of chaps on each stairwell stopping them

My Hammers will struggle this year ,some fans want Moyse gone but personally i cant see the point we have a manager thats proved he can improve the club, owners willing to throw money at it.....at what

Yeah, there no psycho win or die trying types. Fergie always had a good sprinkling of slightly nutty characters in his teams.

At any one time there were 4 top level strikers at the club mate... now we have Martial and Hoijund, and that's it!

We have to rely on Bruno and Rashford for the majority of goals (hopefully the new lad kicks on) but where is the real competition for the striker role?

Gone are the York, cole, Sheringham   solskjaer

Tevez, Rooney, van persie, Ronaldo, Van nisteroy, berbatov even Chicarito..

Its toothless mate... needed a real marque striker signing for a few years now...

They don’t coach kids to be strikers anymore and so they have almost gone out of production……Haaland is the first proper striker I have seen in years.

The Player development plan for academy players is all based on the 4-3-3 system and rotating positions (very similar to the Ajax model that produces Bergkamp etc) but what we have ended up with is a load of 10s and 8s…..even this so called “false 9” is a 10 really

The days when a 10 played behind a 9 and created and let them both cause havoc are gone.

They don’t want strikers, they want highly athletic multi positional players who are technically excellent because (with rule changes….there’s those rule changes again!) it makes for better telly in the telly friendly model they want to create.

If Battistuta, Ronaldo, Vieri, Henry, Hartson, Duncan Ferguson, Anelka, Wright or Shearer played today it would be a free kick every time they tussled with defenders…..the physical game of the great goal scorers is gone.

Enjoy Halland, it will be a long time before you see his like again…..that lad got time warped straight out of 2002 !

Is he the  best ever striker ? We won't know until we see his stats at the end of his career. But he has the potential and the desire to break all kind of records.

Tell you in 12 years ! Lol

The only thing he will never surpass is having a World Cup winners medal like the goat !
For me, Ronaldo Nazario was the greatest striker we will ever see, his honours will never be surpassed……he was not called the Phenomenon for nothing.

And he’s certainly in the right place .

Here’s a left field thought, I think he will get worse in that city team and get sickened to them ?

That team don’t know how to play to that boys strengths, they have never played that way and show no signs of trying to do so…..I think he will become increasingly frustrated by being used as a decoy for markers while Foden, Silva etc want to take 2 or 3 extra touches in and around the box instead of giving him a through ball in the middle third or early crosses like he was getting in Germany and most traditional strikers want.

Maybe that’s a lot of nonsense, I don’t know it just occurred to me.

No team want to play like that any more. Swashbuckling  centre forwards are considered old fashioned. We will see with Haaland. He might, as you say, get pissed off with doing all the work while Foden and company get all the glory. Time will tell.

I think eventually he will go to Madrid but it will be good seeing how he develops. The scary thing is he is only a kid, he can only get better if he stays fit and keeps his desire.

Eddie Howe and Newcastle doing it right, not with a chequebook but with good coaching and brave, good quality attacking football !

I don’t care who you are, if you love football you have to admire that.
