They ain’t looking for lucky nicks, they are playing open, expansive, brave, front foot, attacking football and obviously backing it up in training with their fitness levels and practice…..just like Newcastle. Probably the biggest reason I hate Moyes is that the academy of football that has sat slap, bang in the middle of an area with great football pedigree all its life has been reduced to a team looking for nicks ! A man who plays for nicks is getting hailed as a genius, f**k all that, not a bit of me. Most of Moyes football is like me fighting Mike Tyson, balling up in the corner of the ring with my hands over my head and hoping he dies of exhaustion before he kills me…..it may get a desired result but there is f**k all to respect about it. The headline will say I beat Mike Tyson, the reality is I was a gutless c**t getting the shit kicked out of me for 12 round until he luckily keeled over ! That’s Moyes in a nutshell to me. f**k me, you know it’s bad when I can’t even find pleasure in beating the yids ! Bah Humbug!!! Lol Rope a dope...Ali v Foreman...pretty much sums up.your analogy, and Ali was certainly a genius...(tongue firmly in cheek!!) LOL I said a long time a go (before Ten Hag) my choice of UTD manager would be Simeone or Unai Emry, we're watching why now, he's another that gets every last drop out of his players, he is tactically brilliant and obviously a very good man manager, Villa are great to watch now... Moyes has his style and puts the players in that can play it, I said Ward Prowse was a good signing at the time, he is showing why, fit as f**k and does the running a Moyes team requires (a lot without the ball) then has a bit of quality for the short periods West Ham have the ball, the same as Bowen...it is counter attacking football and they are very good at it, solid unit that breaks quickly... Ferguson teams played a little bit the same (more expansive and dynamic but would concede possession to set traps to break quickly)... you'll never get on board with Moyes style, I understand that, but he gets results, and has you competing... the team plays for him and stick to his style, so he must have their respect, which is hard to gain in modern football imo
jukel123 8,316
I'm with Newkid Wilf. A Moyes' team is going to be about survival first . That cautious style reflects his character and footballing background. It's the main reason the Man U players basically got rid of him. They found his tactics unacceptable and were used to a more expansive style. West Ham wanted a manager who could work within a limited budget and survive in the premiership. Some supporters like yourself would rather be in the championship and play swashbuckling football which is what the hammers were known for historically. But the board, and I guess most of the supporters and certainly the players, want to play in the big boys' league Bielsa managed to produce a do or die, exciting attacking football team with Leeds. But eventually quality matters and they ran out of steam. Is the same going to happen to De Zerbi at Brighton? We'll see. A charismatic manager often loses his influence over his team after a period of time. Look at Mourhino, he generally never lasts more than couple of seasons at a club. Moyes is better than big Sam! big sid 1,127
you got a euro cup you got a few great nights during that euro run you played all over getting the atmosphere at other euro clubs, real fans enjoy seeing their club do so well, your team are sitting ninth in what is supposed to be the best league in the world and you have the gall to call the man who gave your teams fan all that a coward, when all along he used his football know how to reach to these levels the best way he could. yes our cl run was very poor but we dont call the manager a gutless coward no we look at it for what it was another 20 million in the bank and hope the board will invest it in some better quality players. Yet ive seen you throw praise over your Roy Keane/Vinny Jones types with a win at all costs mentality......i remember you lavishing praise on the Wimbledon Crazy Gang side of the 80's and 90's..........hardly pretty to watch was it....but it worked ! For me this style Moyse is playing is high risk football.....in so much as if it doesnt work fans will want your head on a stick.....but its working, while being nowhere near as terrible to watch as that Wimbledon side you worshipped.....maybe its just the club/country in general you no longer like is it ? Lavished ?…….Worshipped ?…….going a bit strong there pal aren’t you ? Lol I don’t think I ever did either of those things but if I did I’d obviously hold my hands up. I don’t reckon me and you can chat about the hammers anymore, you are a home and away, season after season man and I’m not and you have your view and I have mine and I reckon we have both worked out they won’t be the same by now mate. You call it how you see it and I’ll do likewise but we will give up discussing it…….not much point.

No West Ham fan wants them to fail but that don’t mean you have to like things you just don’t like. simple as that
