eastcoast 4,162
Re Sunderland v Newcastle, it is a draw that most on Tyne and Wear hope for every year, even more so now that we are in different divisions. Texted a Mackem friend and said the way things are going with injuries for us we could end up fielding a youth team. He replied that we could field under 11 girls and would still probably thrash Sunderland . What a game for Lewis Miley to get his 1st goal!

Daft thing is I live just five minutes walk from his old house. He could have called me or came here and I would have took him home ! still, he enjoyed the game ! Cheers. gnasher16 30,220
Getting too old for this shit....not often you can count how many fans you've got but was 1 of precisely 276 in Serbia during the week......minus 11 temperatures, penned in like cattle, depressingly boring game, shit beer.......but we got the result and a good time was had by all Edited December 4, 2023 by gnasher16 2
gnasher16 30,220
Cant believe that decision in the Spurs/City game yesterday.....you like to think referees make honest mistakes but that looked like out and out corruption to me......to wave play on and then blow up when Grealish was clean through what was the geezer thinking about surely that will get looked into ? I think the advent of VAR has seen the standard of refereeing fall off a cliff mate. Their confidence to make calls must be at an all time low, especially seeing as VAR don’t work at all with decisions being all over the show even with the “benefit” of cameras and nerds looking at screens etc etc I think it was just a genuine howling mistake, a “brain fart” moment….like when you can’t remember the last mile when you are driving ! But VAR makes these things bigger than they are, all any f****r talks about is VAR…..if they have more of it like they are talking about and silly “rugby” sin bins and all that I just can’t see why or how a genuine footy lad can go to top level football after that….it’s total f***ing dogshit pal

Ive said for a while now the only thing id possibly like to see tried out is some kind of countdown clock visible around the ground,a bit like in Basketball, this is how long you play for,the clock stops when the ball go's out of play or a player go's down injured etc i dont know maybe 40 minutes each half and 40 minutes is what you will play regardless.....it would stop a lot of the play acting and time wasting thats spoiling the game for an average viewer.....and possibly add a bit of drama everyones a winner. Saying that id prefer it just went back to the game we all grew up on but i cant see that happening.
