And what did those stats look like in reality mate ?

What they looked like in reality was sides that had our number and forced us to come onto them in the same way that a fighter wont press and throw first against a counter puncher.......look mate whether you/we like it or not Moyes is good at what he does and is getting a tune from these players......players he knows a lot better than we do.

Ultimately we are just supporters we are not laying foundations for the future of the club we f****d that model off when we moved grounds......Moyes has achieved precisely what chaps like you wanted, you should be celebrating him 😉

The way we've treated Moyse is f****n disgusting....im not against a new manager it probably is the right time but theres ways of doing things and the man deserves respect and a good send off yet we'v

West Ham fans in town all day and not a murmur until wives/families get attacked by " ultras " at the game itself.....embarrassing !! There was a handful of chaps on each stairwell stopping them

My Hammers will struggle this year ,some fans want Moyse gone but personally i cant see the point we have a manager thats proved he can improve the club, owners willing to throw money at it.....at what

Fair !

I was thinking this morning, I’m in this really bizarre mindset where I’m just struggling to find any joy from a team with Moyes at the helm when actually I should actually be on cloud nine…..it’s f***ing odd mate.

I was having much the same conversation with my pal as I am with you, like you he is Home & Away, domestic and Europe and he says pretty much what you say…..he is realistic about it, the only difference is that he isn’t so much anti Moyes as he just thinks his time is probably coming to and end and somebody else could take this group of players further.
But he is full of praise for Moyes about what he has done.

I just can’t, I hate watching his football 99% of the time…..odd.

Gents, just a heads up, if Newcastle achieve the quadruple winning FA cup, league, league cup and Champions league, once my bet pays out I doubt that I will spend much time on here conversing with peasants. No offence. I imagine most of my time will be spent at my country estate out with a bobbery pack of Russells, Bedlingtons, whippets and deerhounds hunting "owt wi 'air on it" whilst wearing a crown. A proper gold crown, none of ya stirling silver shite.

Watched utd Sunday and last night looks like ten haig as lost the dressing room won't be long before he's gone as well looks like there's no game plan or urgency in there play   but will radcilffe offer any hope in his take over poor recruitment bad decisions from top to bottom can he change things looks like they need a total clear out to many senior players just picking a pay cheque up

He's getting the best out of the squad he has might not be pretty but it's kept you in the premiership and got you a European cup

Maybe, the realistic answer is we don’t know what a…..let’s say, more swashbuckling type would do with such a group of talented players.

Again, 100% mate

I just can’t mate, his brand of mediocrity (which it was other than winning the first trophy he has ever won) for the last 23 years is everything I hate in football……I’m not saying the way I like football is the right way, it’s just the way I like it.

Every game, go big or go home or die trying…..that’s how I like the game.

As I say, that’s just me…..

Believe it or not at the beginning he was very attack minded we had 4 or 5 players from man utd at the time and we  were flying we went Sheffield utd away got done 6 nil I think his team management changed after that we played how his teams played after and now but he's a safe pair of hands

Just a few observations on last nights Newcastle Arsenal game ;

Should Havertz been sent off ? Probably, but how did three Newcastle players get yellow cards, same as Havetz, for disagreeing with the ref ?

Should Bruno have been sent off ? Probably. I believe he was looking for a yellow card, so he would miss the Bournemouth game due to his yellow card totting up suspension and be back for the game against Chelsea.

Was it a goal ? Well obviously yes ! It had the longest, most complicated, most detailed, ( they looked at three possible offences)VAR checks,  and came to the conclusion it was a goal. It’s on the record books, Newcastle got the three points, move on !

Is Liveramenko the future England right back ? 100%; he’s got the perfect mentor in Trippier.

I enjoyed the game immensely, it took me back to when football was still nominally a contact sport , no quarter given or asked . Yes, there was a bit of “handbags” but mostly saw opposing players helping each other up and smiling

Is Arteta a whinging dago ? Yes. As Sir Bobby Robson once said after beating Arsenal; “some people need to learn how to lose as well as win” !

Just my own opinions of course, others may have different opinions.

Cheers.

I thought it looked a fantastic game, the edited high lites I watched you looked like everything good about football.

No, it was a rash challenge but nothing really.

That was never a yellow card, there was absolutely nothing in it…..just a bit of good old fashioned pay back and pretty soft payback at that.

That wasn’t a goal in a million years, that ball was clearly out…..without stupid VAR the ref would have given goal kick and we wouldn’t even be talking about it.

As above, proper game of football and your team doing everything a proper outfit should be doing.

If we have VAR and are reducing the game to PlayStation nerds talking about mm and someone’s  left ear offside then managers talking like Arteta did post match is only to be expected.

Without VAR if the ref allows that goal then everyone knows Arteta is bang on…..it’s a massive f**k up from the ref and Lino.

I thought my little hammers played some very enjoyable football (the edited bits I watched at least), we went after Brentford and I couldn’t give two f****d about the result because we were unlucky and that’s the football I want to see.

Got to disagree, Wilf, both the ref and the linesman thought the ball was in play and allowed play to go on, and the ref gave the goal.It was VAR that thought it may have been out of play and instigated the check. Without VAR the refs decision would have been final, and he had decided it was a goal.

Cheers.

I hear you mate but I think that was a case of a ref not doing his job because he knows he can palm it off to VAR, if VAR didn’t exist I think the ref and Lino give a goal kick all day long.

It was out, clearly out and I don’t care what VAR says……I’ve been around football matches longer than VAR ! Lol

Edted to add:

I think linesmen are getting their positioning consistently wrong lately, that has to be down to VAR.

The linesman should be up by the corner flag in that phase of play and he isn’t, he was 10 yards behind the play and that’s not on.

As I said, opinions will differ .

As for Havertz; I’ve seen people sent off for less, but to me, it’s not the severity of the offence, it’s about consistency .
On the one hand, they are seemingly trying to drive contact out of the sport, but then don’t apply their new rules consistently.

But I’m not going to get too worried about it, we are riding the wave just now; I thought the games against Man U, Arsenal and Dortmund away , in three different competitions all in the space of one week, could define our season. A win or a draw on Tuesday at Dortmund would be , honestly, more than I could have expected from the three games.

Cheers.

Absolutely, football is all subjective.

Again, I agree, but that has clearly highlighted just what a nonsense this so called “technology” is, it’s all over the place and subsequently so is refereeing.

You used to know who the good, bad and mediocre refs were and what they let slide and what they didn’t in matches…..VAR has removed that very human consistency and now they are under such scrutiny from something that frankly, is adding f**k all to the game except for nerds, that they don’t know how to be or what to give……just bottle it and let VAR sort it all out.
