I don’t care who you are, if you love football you have to admire that. I went into town before the game to get one of those half/half Newcastle-PSG scarfs for my grandson who supports both teams. The entire city centre was closed to traffic, so I had to walk about half a mile to St. James'. Ive never seen a match day atmosphere like it ! The PSG ultras, thousands of them, marched through town to a holding area next to the ground and , fair do's , they were singing their heads off ! The streets were absolutely full of Newcastle supporters, camera crews and a massive police presence. I got the scarf just in front of Shearers Bar, ironically off a pair of Scouse scallies selling them, then made my way to the Clock pub to meet up with my nephew and his mates for a pint or two before kick off. The noise in the pub was unbelievable, singing, chanting, music, same coming out the doors of every bar around. Pleasantly supprised that the prices weren't a rip off, £3:20 for a pint of lager. We all made our way to the ground about an hour before kick off and the lads went in and I walked to the outskirts of the town to get the bus home in time to watch the game on telly. As I walked past the Outside of the Milburn stand, the noise was deafening, I can just imagine what it was like when the goals were scored ! I was at the Newcastle- Barcelona game when Tino scored a hat trick in the 3-2 win, but this seemed an even bigger game ! A 4-1 result was more than most of us could dream of, it's still sinking in ! Cheers. 4
Blackmag 6,089
I see moyses and West ham have set a European record by becoming the first English team undefeated in 17 games he might not be everyone choice but he gets results and his a steady hand

I got rid of the sky so I have not watched a whole West Ham game this season so I can’t comment on how they are playing. I know what I watched last season and that was shite despite the results, I loathe the bloke and the negative anti football style he brings (or at least did to the games I watched last year) but that just different football philosophies. Id be more in Howes camp of how to play, that the other night was a perfect mixture of brave attacking football and good disciplined defensive work. They broke everywhere on the attack but dropped into a 5 in mid field in defence but kept it high (despite facing Mbappe) so that they could easily go and win the ball quickly and then get forward to support. Its not being stupid but retaining a belief in your own ability and the ability of your team mates…..great stuff. I don’t care about results, sitting 9 in your own box is a c**ts turnout and Moyes can f**k off for all I care ! Lol The ray of sunshine for me at our club is the quality of our squad and the fact we have that Steiden from Leverkusen now, that should be a perfect foil to Moyes worst urges ! eastcoast 4,122
I see Kevin Keegan has commented that he does think that women footballers are qualified to make analysis on the men's high level professional game. Joey Barton has agreed. Oh dear, that's them sentenced to the UK media equivalent of a Soviet gulag. I almost tuned into Loose Women, sorry Football Focus, to see it start but doubt is was mentioned. Real life has no relevance on the BBC's Loose Focus/Football Women programme. Edited October 7, 2023 by eastcoast

THE STIFFMEISTER 15,911
I’m genuinely not one to buy into hype players . Maybe two years ago I posted about how a player that everyone raves about , I never got the fuss. That I thought he was distinctly average . just took my daughter to the fair with her mates and sat in the car and watched at Real Madrid for the 4th / 5th time this year . they might as well award Bellingham the ballon d’or now . That lad will go down as the greatest English football player of all time . He will win the lot and will be the England captain to lift the World Cup. 10 games , 10 goals , carrying Real Madrid , 20 years old . He is the best player in the world at this moment in time . I genuinely cannot believe how good he is !

I agree the fact he his so grounded in his own talents and doesn't get carried away with reports will help him he's unbelievable at his age and the level he plays at were yet to see just how good he really is but I agree he's destined for big things
