whippets tail

hi guys I know this may have been asked before , my 3yr old has lost some of the hair in the middle of his tail , is there owt I can treat it with ?  I dont want to take him to the Rip off vets if there's some thing out there that will help ,thanks for looking .

My old whippet X lost hair same place and it never grew back ,as it gone dark ?

no he's a pedigree whippet , but if you look in to the breed way back into the breed they were crossed with bull ,  greyhounds ,and fox terriers and other stuff, he some times thinks he's a bull terrier lol, thanks for the replies .

it was a vet that told me that years ago.

I used to show EBT and Staffords at one time
