What camera have you got mate . Thinking of getting a decent camera myself with a decent lenses for taking pictures of wildlife though with being as thick as a dockers wage packet when it comes to technology i would want something simple to operate. Canon R10 mate, it's mirrorless so a newer technology than DSLR. The more recent cameras generally have better autofocus performance which is very important when shooting birds & wildlife. 1

Have a look at Bridge cameras mate I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ150. This has a zoom on it of 24x which I think I'm right in saying equivalent to 600mm. To be honest takes some good photos. Mine has been superseded not but you can still pick one up on ebay for about £100 / £150 they were about £500 new. Cheers Arry

Cheers Arry You won't get the same images with a bridge camera because of the sensor size but it's all relative. The ease of use with a bridge camera can't be beat and you can get reach that professional cameras can only dream of.
Goly 944
A sensor comparison between my camera and the Nikon P1000 bridge camera, a full frame sensor is much bigger than mine as well.

Its fine for me the detail fair tbh and you can use it on auto if you want. Cheers Arry

But something like a Nikon P1000 has a smaller sensor than an iPhone and will produce inferior images, what you do get though is unfathomable reach. You're better off viewing the Nikon like a digital binocular.

None are as easy as a phone, but, yes, they all have automatic modes which is basically point and shoot.
