Good fun with ferreting with terriers as anything and everything can happen and it's rarely just a straight forward day,

I remember when I was in my twenties, used to go beating with the terriers but unfortunately they would go to ground sometimes and we would just have to let the rest carry on while we got the terrier back 🤣

My mates Patterdale bitch was very fast and often caught rabbits on top but on one particular day in September we were beating the stubbles for partridge, a hare lifted and she coursed it all over the field before catching it 😁 this was with an audience of beaters and guns.

Enjoyable day yesterday, visited a couple of lakes in Quebec as we are fishing one next week, saw a few whitetail deer, and did the worlds only inter-provincial zipline (Quebec to Ontario)across the Ottawa river, done it before but it closes this weekend for winter so had one last blast.

I was once waiting on stop for the next drive with the terrier on its lead a partridge flew from the opposite hedge directly into the terriers mouth, despite me waving my flag.

I’ve seen terriers grab all sorts in the beating line, including muntjac and a fox while they were on a lead.

No I'm  a float and lead about type if I'm laying traps for harder carp, that won't come out the margin lol.

If I was travelling and just dropping in on different lakes I think I would have one considering the size of them.

It could be very handy cost about the same as 40 cans of Heinz beans out there.lol
