The swans nest in the background was attacked last week the penn was injured and eggs taken I set a camera up and only got a vixen with cubs on it though I suspected a water born attack from the otter was more likely, a couple of days back I found the remains of a nice Rudd in the same spot and yesterday morning this pike, river is carrying a lot of colour and extra water which is normally the time the otter comes in but there is still a strong smell of fox near the pike remains ???

Enjoying getting out and about with the youngster for a dog who virtually lives in the forest you'd think the daft little f****r would of worked out where squirrels actually go by now !.....the look on his face when he loses track of them is priceless ?

Misses goes into town on a Friday for shopping, so I got her to drop me off just before coming into civilisation and had a couple of hours wandering my way back across the flood plains, still lots of water on the ground saw a lot of shell duck had a really nice accidental run on a good hare, old boy done well for a 10 year old even got a few turns in, needed a good 10 mins in a wet ditch after but nice to watch eventually broke through a deer run back onto the towpath for the last few miles home also came across some fat fuk in a mobility scooter stuck in the mud, tried to get a few pics of it but me phone went and they were back onboard before I could get a shot was quite funny watching

Lovely looking specimen you have there mate good to see a decent bully nowadays same for yokel, get yourself a catty in your pocket, once you shoot one or two down for him he,ll soon get tuned in ?

Some foxes become top fish catchers but I would still say otter

Thanks mate yes i bought one off a chap on here but just couldnt get the hang of it im diabolical with one all fingers and thumbs i cant hit a barn door....shame really id quite like to master a catty and like you say would benefit the youngun.

Yesterday  I watched the sun rise over the same stretch of water that Davey Crocket hunted and trapped.Made me think of how hard it must have been to survive.

Today we had storms so I walked some small creeks as predators feed during storms in small creeks.
