My godfather (and mother's cousin) was the one who got me into country walking - Youth Hostelling etc, died of a heart attack on Helvellyn.

He was the only brainy one of the family - was a professor at Warwick University.

Beat my Pb salmon,got one of 30 Lb,found an air BnB a few miles from the river sleeps 6 even has a hot tub and pool,not so expensive,thinking of getting it for a week next September,been chatting to my kids and they are both up for it.

Did a trail yesterday looking for a hibernaculum,a guy I spoke to saw the emergence on the same walk in the spring,dozens of sluggish snakes on the path he had to step over,I saw 20+ in total,autumn is a day away so they are getting ready to go underground.

Also saw the train track connecting Ottawa is extending out to us which is a good thing,property price increase.

Going to see Les Stroud tonight,three hour show finishes at 11pm,then straight up to Quebec to get on the bank at dawn (fishing is illegal at night) for a weekend of Salmon.

Dusk till dawn mate,your allowed to take 5 a day but I know a guy last week filleted his straight into coolers and took 20,when a single pool has a hundred fish in it doesn’t take long to bag up.
