tatsblisters 10,134
Had a good walk this morning though i am now getting fed up of this cold snap tbh. Not seen much bird life bar corvids and pheasants and five roe deer together. Glad I took my small flask that's turning out to be the best tenner I have spent in a while.

Goly 944
Been out this morning, without my camera and again spot the kingfisher, I imagine even with my camera I'll struggle to get a shot, they are rapid.

I did 18 Km the other day in -20 windchill, fantastic to walk into a warm house and stick the kettle on,a bit of cold isn't so bad. 7 minutes ago, Goly said: Been out this morning, without my camera and again spot the kingfisher, I imagine even with my camera I'll struggle to get a shot, they are rapid. Kingfisher perch and a hide is how many professionals get that great shot.

That's the only way mate, today I dropped on, as I was walking down the beck it flew around the corner and was just about to perch, it had spread it's wings and was in the landing position, the shades of red & orange that hit my eyes was bliss. Before it landed it saw I was there and spun around and flew up stream.

I'm hoping on getting a telephoto lens for my camera this year, the 18-55mm kit lens just doesn't have the reach to be of use.

Same with the clobber mate never felt the cold even when I had half an hour sat on the stone bridge drinking my flask. Recently bought one of the swazi long sleeved micro t shirts and the paramo bantu fleece that's only thin with the ridgeline torrent i never felt the cold and didn't get too hot walking about a bonus really as since I dropped 3 stone in weight I am feeling the cold more than I have ever done.
