Highlight of 2022

What was your highlight of 2022?

Mine was in October when I travelled to the Scottish Borders to try and call a sika stag in the rut.

I have shot Sika before but never called one.

Imagine how chuffed I was when I called not 1 but 2 spikers in and grassed both all within 5 minutes

I’ve had a few highlights this year 

One was out stalking a roe buck and being within touching distance of some doe’s

then my trip down to the flat lands to visit my mate Robin, I only see him a couple of times a year and it’s always good fun 

and my first day at the pheasant shoot, after all the problems it was a day that couldn’t of gone any better and my hard work had paid off

One of them was certainly grassing an elusive Oxfordshire fallow buck after 5 blank stalks .

Then there’s the guided stuff .I do enjoy getting other people their deer ,especially a good stalk in  ,thats where the adrenaline happens .

Hoping to get this new 30-06 shooting sweet and do a bit more with other species this year .
