There are quite a lot of single lonely people living on the boats and on new year I will do a massive beef joint in the slow cooker loads of bread rolls get a fire pit going on the grass and invite them all out, did the same last year had 17 people out some will bring pots of roasters some alcohol and some nothing but everyone had a great night with the maddest mix of people I’ve ever seen from hells angels to drag artists and everything in between, ??

I wish you were closer as I'd love to join you. I'm not single or lonely but would be bang up for that!

We have all said we want to volunteer at a homeless shelter or old folks place next Christmas..... amazingly there aren't many opportunities as most places are overwhelmed with volunteers at crimbo!

I will be a happy and sad day. Will start with putting In beef low and slow then cup of tea Wifey and me opening presents bit later a bacon door step Lol. Midmorning my lad and his wife will visit open presents that wifey has spoilt them with I don't mind.

Then the sad bit we will go up to our only granddaughters grave that we lost 20 months ago leave flowers and a wreath I've started to make.

Lad and his wife still taking it hard at times it was a very rare genetic thing so no more grandchildren unless they adopt. I won't pressure them.

The bar across the middle will come off, Hazel and red dogwood.

Her middle name was Hazel.

Right enough of the sad.

Back home I will start cooking to eat at 4 o'clock I've invited a single mother and her teenage son to dinner, they are finding it hard at the moment and have f**k all. So going to give them a slap up Christmas Dinner with all the trimming. They are good people and deserve it and it will make our day too.

Then feet up and fire some back my neck Lol.

Any way lads have a very Happy Christmas and New Year to every one of you.

Cheers Arry

This is a follow up to the above post.

Well forgot to photo the whole meal was a bit stressed cooking. I ordered a three Rib of Aberdeen Angus Beef from the local butcher. When I picked it up I thought f**k me look at the size of it 10lb 3 ffs, well I ordered it I didn't think I could back out lol. Wallet a lot lighter I brought it home with loads of stick from wifey, ah well.

Anyway up at 4.30 to put it on low and slow looked at it thought I would cut one rib of, what a cracker will look forward to getting that on the BBQ later in the year. If I can wait that long.

At 2 pm I realised its not going to be ready for 4pm so had to up the heat.

Ended up like this.

It was grand and cut easy melted in your mouth served up with roasties, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, peas ,beetroot, Savoy cabbage, chestnuts, stuffing and pigs in blankets. Was supposed to have Yorkshires puddings but left the bloody thing on the side in the kitchen ffs.

The single mother and her lad came across and we had a great meal and she brought tiramisu my favourite . A wonderful time was had by all of us after we stuffed our selfs then crashed on the sofas in front of the wood burner having few or may be more than a few drinks lol.

Well I did finish the wreath and laid it on the granddaughters grave.

Some of my presents brought back fond memories of my childhood Xmas';

Socks, but gortex, not knitted wool.

Torch, but LED, lithium rechargeable , not battery .

Radio, DAB, not transistor.

Just as excited with my presents as I was 60-65 years ago ! ??!

Cheers.

I’m in Poland so…..

Cold meats, pate, Borsh (spelling), and vodka for breakfast ? Soups and strange things for lunch and dinner, pickles, herring, carp, cabbage etc in between and more vodka of course.

I have literally been eating and drinking for three days solid and not once been pissed ? just having the 9th vodka of this meal (probs the 20th of the day) ?
