How's the fishing going lads?

I popped across yesterday for a couple of hours, river was well up chocolate brown with trees coming past every few mins lads were having an enjoyable time and chaff was still getting a few knocks on the tip close in, any fish in those conditions will be a bonus but still good to meet real people from the forum and I,m sure a good weekend will be had by all

Already looking forward to the warmer weather.

Drove down to the gulf. When I started to release the shark, someone set off a firework display.Good timing lol.

It's Been a while since I did any barbel fishing ,braved the floods today and made the effort...lost what felt like a decent fish just as it was getting dark...recasted with fresh boilies on the hook

Superb. Whilst living in Northampton we used to go to Boston to catch the big boys. A stop off to get some bleak and away we went. Now my memory could well be fuzzy but I recall up to 5.1/2 lbs. Not only that we would have a bath full. Back home mid morning and started cutting. Jok.

The biggest eel i have ever seen was dead on the bank after they dredged the canal up by Burton Hastings back in the early 1980`s this thing was huge, possibly 3" thick and easily 3ft long

Took my boys dropshotting on canal had deadbait roach and smelt and prawn was a misty damp start. Lost a jack, then few more goes and my eldest landed his first jack pike on a small roach. Youngest seemed to get the hang of casting and jigging had a follow in but no cigar. I may now invest in a dropshot rod as my spinner is something like 8//20g and it was clunking more than twitching lol. Still I enjoyed , especially the catch. I could've stayed all day .
