finished early....so up the river for some more clearing work.... found this badboy in my favourite swim

working today and a few hrs tomorrow morning..travel to the Wye,got a few swims that need new steps etc,will chuck a rod out for the barbel while I'm working away

Finally got back up here....

My first day of the river Season kicked up a surprise.

I was running late and feeling lazy so l grabbed the Grandkids' rod because it was already set up . 7 ft of vintage solid glass   a tobacco tin of spare bits and a Le Omnia reel  made up the low tech outfit.

Twenty  small rudd later l was happy enough and about to pack up as it was getting dark but went for the obligatory classic last cast .

I'm glad l did!

quick hour Renewing some steps and building a new platform..

Set the youngest up with a little quivertip rod and 6 lb line... little dace and chublets a chuck..
