Schools no longer provide cooking lessons for dare I say it girls .Boys no longer learn woodwork I’m told .Society has f****d up tradition and our kids ,kids will pay the price .My wife can rustle up a meal from whatever basics there are in the cupboard ,not often but she knows what to do ,same as my daughter who is now at home with a young child .Teaching people we are all the same ,doing away with the sexes and both parents working is the root to this take away family time watching tele instead of sat round the table talking about the day they’ve all had .

It weeds out the people who know no better ,that’s what nature does .We have moved away from nature in the main and society will pay dearly in years to come .

my girls doing food she made veg soup other day and pasta bake they have it once a week and fabric design. and my boys took d+t woodwork he’s made all sorts over the past few years. Wood metal and CAD engineering. They have double lessons once a week. And an after school club if they wanted the school is great.

Personally, I  think you should never condemn anybody until  you've  walked  in their shoes. What happens to you in life is a mixture of choices and luck...good or bad. Some people make poor choices o

No point in me firing back with a counter argument. So best to agree to differ.

However, I know dozens of guys who' ve been dealt crap hands right from the get go, and others who've just been dead lucky. As far as the unfortunate go I always think that could have been me had I been dealt a shit hand of cards. I'll give you an example, a friend of mine served his time as a spark, married and started his own business. His two kids both had the same genetic disease and died in their teens. Then his wife, his sister and his mother died within 3 years. He ended up a chain smoker and alcoholic and died of alcohol poisoning. Most down and outs have a story behind them.

Mate I’m not saying it isn’t sad don’t get me wrong but all this everybodies entitlement is just filling a fair few heads with shit they could do without .I’m a firm believer we make our own luck and way in life .Your example however is a rough deal and enough to drive a man to drink but not everybody would go that way .Strength isn’t necessarily in the body bu5 in the mind set too .

My mistake then mate .I understood it had been stopped as deemed sexist .

Why are we even arguing about this, Just take your kids down to Dover, Say you have just arrived on a Dingy, A small amount of time lying through your teeth to an official and then Luxury 4 or 5 star accommodation and 3 free meal a day,

I agree with Jukel in that there are people who are blighted with bad luck or health or circumstances that dictate how they live. I know people like that. I also have met a lot of people who make their own bad luck. No job, can't feed the kids, but got a £1500 iphone on the drip along with £30 a month going out on call contracts. There are all sorts of reasons. You have to know the problem before you can critisise the situation.

I know people who would never have chosen to live like they do. They have no alternative due to circumstances beyond their control. Example;  A family who lost their income due to the father having an accident, paid out by insurance then MRSA set in and he had to have another 12 months off work and the insurers won't pay the second claim. Nobody can legislate for that.

If everybody was a winner in life then the amount of money those who were winners before had would diminish significantly. Would those same before winners be so quick to knock those who weren't winners then?.

I will try to explain better, If everybody became an architect then there would be nobody to build what they had designed, If everyone became a brickie then there would be nobody to design the build or supply the materials to build it and so on. This is how the world works,

Most 'losers' in my experience are  very thick, as in can hardly read, have had bad luck,  are addicted to something, have mental health demons, or had a shit upbringing and usually a combination  of all these things. They are classed as 'bad' when in fact they are sad. I don't know what the answer is, but sticking non violent people in jail seems mad to me. Be cheaper to put them up in all inclusive hotels.

That's true it is all about choices, But when those choices are influenced by the media/social media and other areas, then that choice has been biased in my opinion, We live in a consumer society and everyone believes that the have to have and can afford this, that or the other. Who is at fault here, the lady with 3 kids living on her own unable to feed them whilst watching a 75 inch TV or the society that has let consumerism and the never ending quest for money, possibly been the reason.
