jukel123 8,310
Was reading some stats about this years fatal dog casualties in the UK. Six out of the nine deaths were caused by American bullies. Bring in compulsory dog owner insurance, muzzling in public places and a law criminalising the passing on of adult dogs which have shown human aggression: too many psycho dogs end up in unsuspecting households often with children. 1

Any dog can become aggressive if they are mistreated and abused . There is people that should not have dogs ,just like there is people that should not have childern . If there was heavy fines imposed and the money deducted from there social welfare or wages, that would solve the problem with irresponsible dog owners .

I've had first hand experience of that. A friend took on a staff from a specialist bull terrier rescue organisation . The story she was given was that the dog was a big softy but the rescue kennels were overstocked and the dog just needed temporary lodgings until a permanent home could be found . My friend is no stranger to dogs like Bordeuxs and Belgian Shepherds and has staffs of her own . Within minutes of the thing arriving it broke its lead and made a bee line for a child on the other side of the stable yard. The child ended up in A&E. The rescue centre were in total denial about lying about the dog's temperament and only came to collect the thing when they were told that it would be handed to the police or shot if they didn't. That very evening the same dog was on the rehoming site with a sob story and a new name! The same happened to a friend's partner when a German Shepherd she had rehomed turned on her children . In fairness it wasn't a bad dog but it was certainly in the wrong situation. I saw the dog a few weeks later(It was a distinctive white animal ) in the company of a woman with a child in a push chair and asked about it . She had only had it a few days but sure enough it had come from the local rescue centre . It also had a new name. The clincher came when it recognised both me and responded to it's old name! Thats what happens when literally anyone can set themself up as a " dog rescue "....you get some deranged little old woman who loves dogs charging you money to finance her madness. 2
