witton 6 Posted January 28, 2008 Report Share Posted January 28, 2008 I dont sell stuff on here anyway but its imo stupid that you have to be a donator......its alright saying people just come on to sell stuff and obviously some did but at the end of the day who are we to complain we are the ones buying it.........I enjoyed looking thought at all the bits and bobs....and dogs up for sale.......Now there is gonna be alot of stuff and litters that we dont get teh chance to buy because we simply don't hear of them.....I know that there not gona donate just so they can sell sum thing they will just simply advertise it somewhere else......i only really look at this forum so people like me are missing out...... But clearly there is a bit of a debate going on here and I don't want to start off the cries of "censorship". So I have deleted the requirement and moved it to General The rules are what they are - they might change but for now only donators can post For Sale or Wanted and even then only in the right place and with the right info. Something needed to be done to get control of that section and it was touch and go whether the whole thing went in the bin. They might not be quite right yet but Ian had to start somewhere. Don't worry you're in good company , everybody else who haven't donated advertise on every section since the new ground breaking classified donating rule , what a joke ! While it may be true that some slip through the net, a lot of the incorrect posts are being picked up and removed. There are a few that started before the new rules, which would be unfair to delete. As far as i can see THL have done about as much as they can to help prevent this....now people are complaining cos they have I think people just like to complain Moll. I dont think someone trying to rehome a dog for free should have to pay to advertise either, if they were putting an ad in a free ads paper it wouldnt cost them anything. As for those selling pups well thats fine, they can pay £5 its not much really, a puppy ad in the adtrader costs around £40 for 4 issues so people really are being tight asses if they object to paying a measly fiver, especially if they visit the site on a regular or daily basis, but free to good home and wanted ads, well, thats what I think on them, what do you folks think? john b 38 Posted January 28, 2008 Report Share Posted January 28, 2008 Is that right ?,you want to find a pat pup before the 7th of feb' shay,will have gander around for you .The womble is right john,ads. are all over the place .Nothing wrong with the new policy imo but these section for sales make a mockery of things and I don't believe you mods. are on top of it one little bit the same with text talk,abusive language towards members etc etc.If I remember correctly it was all stated in the small print when you join that all these things were stamped out on this forum.Maybe the job is too much for the mods. or some of you arent pulling your weight while others do.Questions questions :whistle: Well all I can say mate is report these instances when they happen. As far as I know I have never ignored a pm that complained to me - either dealt with it or explained why I wasn't going to. It's a thankless 'kin task this is and half the time it's just protecting people from themselves. But we do it as best we can and the more help from the members the better we do it.
