There will be lots of members who aren't what they seem to be, thousands if you include greb. 

You might get animal rights activists joining and trying to get to know about illegal stuff. I actually think greb might be one of them as he is always trying to get people to talk about certain breeds. But the old bill?  You've been watching too much tv.

I don’t need to watch telly to know how it all works mate, played the game myself for years and as I told you just now I have had national news papers contact me through pm joined as normal members then wanting to meet up etc the days of chasing crime is over, you only got to look at the state of the fat cnuts to know most police work now is looking on screen, I,ve also seen evidence many of my still active friends  are convicted on to know were it all comes from

I believe we may be thinking about the same case;

not getting to far into it, there was a huge argument about a very well known man in the lurcher game being accused of stealing a dog.

One lad went at it like a dog with a bone, and the man who was accused got the police involved and the lad was taken in for questioning, and he claims he was confronted with screen shots of not only posts, but PM's off here.

I haven't a clue how true it was, and the lad had a bit of a reputation for, shall we say, "exaggeration ", but he swore it was true.

One thing I know for sure, no site on the internet is completely secure.

If what you say is right Charts then the agrieved member is likely to be the source of the screen shots of posts and pm's. If the police had accessed this site's database as has been suggssted they would have been able to print if all off.

Yes, I would expect the RSPCA and ALF type organisations to keep a roving watch, but not the police unless they were acting on information received. And nobody can get to print off pms unless the site owner allows access.

The aggrieved member wouldn't have had access to the accused's PM's, which he wasn't part of, but the accused claims he was confronted with PM's between him and third parties.

Christ, I'm sounding like a f***ing lawyer now !

Not saying I used to poach and trespass but with all the skewed property lines ( public private property as I call it) one thing I learned , treat but if ground you walk on well and you avoid 80% of your problems . Had one guy walk up on me when I was fishing while walking the creek . Said usually he'd be pretty upset but I was the first one to ever close the garage behind me and not leave trash everywhere so he'd be happy to have more trespassers like me

Incorrect.

I've told this story in the past; I was a moderator on another site and had a falling out with the owners.

I was told by a member that I was being slagged off and lied about, so I asked a colleague of my late son if he could get me access to the site without it being known.

He had me on in a matter of minutes, and I was reading not only posts, but PM's.

I had great fun confronting them with what they had written.....it was driving them mad thinking they had a spy in their midst, blaming each other and fighting like rats in a sack !

The site closed down not long after. Perhaps it wasn't as secure as here, but as I've said, no site on the internet is totally secure

Of course it can be done. But as you say, there is nothing on here to warrant it. Its not national security issues. From what Charts has posted it all seems a bit Waltish. I would think that if the site owners were alerted to illegal activity they would cooperate as you would expect them to. But on the face of it, the person reporting this could quite easily be making stuff up. Wouldn't be the first time. 

Just imagine if the big brother theories were true; the authorities would have to monitor every site from mums net to pigeon watch for signs of illegal activity. It couldn't be done. They will intervene if something is brought to their attention. Like a stolen dog.
