Crop protection

Well the geese have been on the winter barley the last 2 mornings so this morning was the time to have a go.

I was set up on the field by 6.20am in the dark under a beautiful red sky full of anticipation, will they come or not ?

As soon as it was breaking light the 1st skein of 10 birds drifted towards the decoys but not fully committed so I took the lead bird which took 2 shots sending it crashing into the earth.

Then the birds started to flight and I took a few right and lefts ....the flight was all over in half an hour but I thoroughly enjoyed it taking 11 birds

Now I have to distribute them to the neighbour's

was out with dog just before dark and must of seen over a thousand geese, the skeins kept coming over… thought I’d go for a look this morning!

absolutely sod all fcuk knows where they went… was worth it for the sunrise and blasted something for the hotpot on way back to the motor.

Out again this morning in the cold and fog but the geese had other ideas leaving the roost and heading the opposite direction
