I've told this tale on here before; Many years ago, a pal of mine had a racing Greyhound that wasn't doing the business, so some of the "old hands " told him to run it on a hare to "gee it up". we slipped it on a hare, they went through a barbed wire fence......the greyhounds back opened up like a sleeping bag zip, it broke its tail and broke a hock.....it didn't leave the field. Cheers. the last thing i’d do is slip a pure grey even one that’s been on the land a lot near any wire or open land to a dykes etc your asking for trouble nice tight hedgerows then i would just an accident waiting to happen really Quote Link to post

Cheers. Seen similar happen a nice little blue bitch that was slipped on a rabbit only she opened up both her legs from her wrists to here shoulders. I still know a lad from the 60's who had a whippet that wouldn't chase, so he put a couple of guinea pigs in an onion bag, and attached it to the rag for the bitch to run.
