Had an "ooh, are, nearly had it" run yesterday with the young deer cross bitch . Not many about, and what we did see were sitting close by the hedges or cover, and on their toes in an instant !

The 18 year old convicted with him if he his who i think he his hare coursing with lurchers is in his DNA and long may it continue and good luck to these and any other lads who continue to run the gau

mugged one just as dusk was setting in....first  run...30..40 seconds ...it was flying...they got a few bends in ....but it was in control...through a hedge in to a cover crop....they followed it ..but couldn't push it out again...

5 mins later ..next field push through the hedge....6 or 7 sat there getting fidgety...both dogs are off on different runs....the black bitch runs one straight in to a wood ...the grey one has a good run ..up and down the field ....in to the next field...I get back through the hedge to watch...

the black butch comes back to me empty handed...she pushes through the hedge just behind me...only to run head first in to the one the grey bitch is running..

she killed it not 2 feet from me..

.it didn't deserve to get caught like that...but there you go

good write up tomo i was 1 from 2 today then more agg from a farmer been going on this spot 15 year never ever bothered he never rang up on me so that was a bonus

What u call good timing for the Dog Bad luck for the hare mate ? that's hunting mate one in the bag anyhow

you should of done it straight away mate then give em mouth to mouth showed we can be conservationists aswell ?

Seen a few till following each other around me this last week and a hare shoot this week produced a few pregnant ones as well,few years back i found a handsized leveret on a shoot i was beating on during december..

Slow cook it in stout with a selection of vegetables overnight, then make some pies the next day, cover the filling with a good layer of grated cheese before you put the lid on
