jukel123 8,795
Just been watching. Can't remember the name of the main presenter, but I quite like his enthusiasm. His ideas on fieldsports are seriously misguided but I think I could have a drink with him as long as he listened to an opposite viewpoint. It's nice to see the female presenters looking up wonderingly at their male superiors. Very satisfying. I love cheerleaders, especially blondes. Ah, the good old days. Be great to see a programme hosted by ordinary blokes and birds who genuinely love nature and accept field sports as a part of the overall world of nature. Not gonna happen. I have yet to meet a field sportsman who wasn't a genuine nature enthusiast and who wasn't compassionate. This is never communicated to Joe Public. As long as you're not wearing your badger costume, and Chris is'nt E'd up, he'll probably not try to cornhole you on the rug 1
Nicepix 5,650
I don't watch the program these days but have fond memories of Kate Humbles great tits and who can forget Mikela Strachans beaver close-ups?

pesky1972 5,361
I record these now, and skip through probably 90% of the content. Don’t rate any of the presenters at all, barring maybe yo-yo…, he’s not terrible. Still watch because I love UK wildlife, and some of the footage you get to see is brilliant. Stoat probably my favourite UK mammal, and in recent years seen them show stoats climbing trees to raid a woodpeckers nest, and thermal imaging of a fox killing a stoat. Stuff that you could live a lifetime and not see, so worth a watch imo.

There is a long history of manipulation in wildlife photography. It annoys me that wildlife documentaries generally end up fairy stories/Disney stories. I wish they would stick to facts. Documentary makers seem stuck in the groove of showing footage of the fight between two alpha males which they just happened to be lucky enough to capture on film. It tells you more about the makers of these films than the subject of the documentary. I wish they would come up with something new. Its the same old animals all the time and the same story line. zzzzzzzzzz

Agreed. BBC should have ditched him years ago. National treasure...bollocks.New blood should be given a chance. As I say it would be great to watch a documentary about a species you knew absolutely nothing about. I'm fed up hearing about lions, elephants, cheetahs etc. How about some inconspicuous spider or dart frog or butterfly? Edited October 26, 2022 by jukel123
