Wolfdog91 6,922
Was out the other night looking around for hogs . Something had been telling me to set my NV up on my .22lr again but seems every time I do that I walk up in something alot bigger then what it's good for or I can't get close enough, so kept it on my 7.62x39 as always. Well get up on top of a hill over looking a paster had to turn on my head light to check something. Something tells me to look up and I see eye shine in a tree. Scope in and sure enough , two reasons I should have set up with my .22lr , gotta love it 2 Quote Link to post
shovel leaner 7,650
It’s called “ Sod’s law” over here . It’s why I always used to carry two rifles or a rifle and shotgun . But if you are on foot it’s not possible. And I could guarantee the day I went out without a gun I would see a fox standing broadside at perfect range. 2 2 Quote Link to post
BenBhoy 4,706
I'm convinced corvids recognise a gun. If I'm on my regular daily checks I'll always have hmr or recently 12bore semi. If see corvid in range, then they wait until I stop quad then soon as I start to move they're off. Yesterday, out to check water pipe, (no gun) had a crow basically shadow me the whole time! I stopped...got off bike...even held up pretend gun....not bothered!! Proper sods law. They do Ben, experience it regularly. If I carry a shotgun in hand they stay put in the field. Rifle over the shoulder they disappear pronto! BenBhoy 4,706
Grudging respect for them. Intelligent & adaptable, but bloody nuisance! 2 Quote Link to post

Called Murphy's law here, still no clue who he is but if he's got this kinda a law named after him I reckon he's a dick I usually carry a pistol but at night welll 3 Quote Link to post

Very good actually but a bit crude. 1 Quote Link to post

Found the same thing myself...I used to work as a greenkeeper in my early 20's...I would walk the course with my air rifle in the golf bag with my clubs...only way I could get close enough to shoot the corvids and rabbits 3 Quote Link to post
