paulus 26
Roach are one of my favourite fish. I just love fishing for them in the Winter when they are balled up in massive shoals sitting in the warmest parts of the water. Not the easiest way to catch them but defiantly a challenge. Just a few snaps added as examples lol Quote Link to post

Strangely enough all my big Roach have been caught on banded 8mm and 13mm Halibut pellets, I should be thanking the carp anglers...................... But No Quote Link to post
Nicepix 5,650
I've had some nice roach of flies. In fact my first three fish caught on fly tackle were roach from the River Dearne while I was trying to learn how to cast. I also used to catch them when trout fishing on the same river further upstream. They go for small shrimp type patterns fished slowly. They don't snatch the fly like a trout does, just a gentle touch that you have to strike at quickly. In summer they will take dries off the top. Quote Link to post

My PB Rudd was on the fly in summer, great fun tbh Quote Link to post
