Agree . You shouldn’t skimp on cartridges. It’s a small price compared to everything else . Imagine you are under the bird of a lifetime, with everyone watching and you don’t do it justice. At least if you have decent cartridges, you only have yourself to blame . 
            I got a slab of “Purple fury “ from just cartridges. They were the best game cartridges I’ve used or seen being used . Fast easy on the shoulder and the kills at range were unbelievable.

Think clear pigeon are £90 a slab now, I’ve a mate who bulk buys and falls out with guns/ chokes and cartridges every other week so I just buy what ever he’s flogin cheap

just finished using a slab of gamebore super steel that killed well No4 shot only thing I didn’t like was they were plastic wad… if they weren’t so expensive I’d use the pigeon extreme as they work well on the crows, I’d say 8 of ten phone  calls are for crows!

this was a 410 day for me with my mate using a ridiculous fac shotgun, he shots most but god knows what his connection rate was.. sounded like machine gun fire

I wouldn’t use expensive cartridges on pigeons or crows . What we were saying is that driven shooting isn’t cheap and as such there is little point not taking the best cartridges you can afford. 
                I don’t know how many of us do this , but it’s worth spending time testing your shotgun/ cartridge on a pattern plate. But I tend to just get the best value cartridge’s I can for vermin .

For the small mountain grouse and Hazelgrouse i use cheap US5-6 30-32g cartridges and for the bigger and dense forest Capercaillie, blackgrouse and roedeer I use 34-36g US3-4 quality stuff.
