Is our NHS really on its knees or do the practice doctors just need a fecking good kick up the arse .

My son tried to book an appointment for a reoccurring ear infection today to be told 31st of  the month .Then when he said it needed sorting he was told if he signs up to patience watch  or whatever the feck it’s called he might get in tomorrow .Like  myself , he was calm and asked if the  appointment was available online why wasn’t available at front desk to be told it dosnt work like that and it was first come first serve .WTF .He’s there in person but can’t book an appointment without going home and booking online .Apparently our doctor only works a 3 day week ,lazy c**t .The NHS is fecked because of incompetency like this and the lack of commitment by those we look to for help .

He works where there is no internet or phone signal so no chance of trying to book feck all online .

My wife is going to try book an appointment for him in person tomorrow .I’d love to be a fly on the wall as she’s not known for diplomacy .

Also and here’s my input …..

Today I had a call from the surgery to say my firearms medi form is ready to collect .Great says I do you take cash .Yep no probs £30 .Cheap by all accounts talking to lads around the country .

Rush back from work to get there before they close .The lady on the desk is ,to be blunt not  the sharpest tool and it takes a while to get across why I’m there .Another helpful lady brings the envelope forward and I attempt to pay .No sorry sir, we can’t accept cash past midday ,what the absolute f**k .

I say Ok bit strange but how do I pay .Well it’s cash only says the now smiling helpful bint .

So I calmly put the cash on the desk and ask for a receipt .You’ve guessed the rest .

Luckily my doctor ventures into the reception and I call him over ,explain I want to pay to be told thank you and he pockets the cash and asks the lady to write me a receipt .Duly done but no smile .

Theres more to how I needed to change a twenty for two tens next door at the pharmacy but that might have to wait until I find out if there’s repercussions ?

What a result pal. My wife, a nurse, had the same and came through the ordeal. She only mentioned it this evening when I was on about not leaving a very good friend in the lurch. He, is however, 82, so not looking too good. Jok.

Worlds going mad . Went in pub/ restaurant Friday lady said they are fully booked. But find a seat outside In the covered and heated patio area and we can serve you. Sat down went to order but no she said all food orders are stopped they are too busy. So my Mate goes online and orders a takeaway , gives the delivery address as the pub. LAdy comes over and says foods ready and I asked if we could have it on plates to eat at table…… oh f***ing no had to eat it out of foil containers ffs

It's fcuked.. In Northern Ireland anyway, 12 to 18 hour waiting times in AandE 4 year waiting times for a lot of operations. A lottery getting an appointment with your GP. I could go on and give first hand experiences but what's the point.

Close friend of mine is a paramedic, 20-30 hour waits for the ambos in the car park.... f***ing joke

I got an ambulance for an old bloke about two months back, he was having a stroke, the ambulance took maybe 20 minutes from when I made the call. The ground level NHS staff do their best with what they have, higher up the ladder are a mix of people who have worked their way up and fuckwits.

Whats worrying is the NHS is turning into a "how you will be treated lottery".

Ive been treated for Fibromyalgia for over a year now for pain in my leg and knee, could never see a doctor face to face and had various phone calls dismissed. A few months back woke up in absolute agony and my knee swollen taken to hospital where I had to have my knee drained of fluid, I had steroid injections, antibiotics for a infection and anti inflammatory. It turns out I was being miss treated for the whole time and had septic arthritis. All the pain is gone now but Im still pissed off that I spent almost a 12 month in absolute agony and my standard of life dropped all because a doctor couldnt be arsed to see me face to face.

The wife had 2 letters come through the post yesterday to see a specialist one with a date, time etc the other saying her appointment had be cancelled!...........it dont feel you with any confidence thats for sure.

Read about hip replacements, a common type of surgery where a damaged hip joint is replaced...
