pigeonphill 69
[went out to day with the new net i got of advanced netting and well pleased with myself. put the 50 yarder around the first warren and put the ferrets to ground got nine in the net and they wasnt going no where lost two which were lucky enough to go round the end of the net and my bitch whos never seen a longnet took to it like a duck to water, well happy.i then moved on to a hedge row and again run the longnet out but the rabbits wasnt playing the game as they just hole hopped and didnt get any from here i should have covered some of the holes with purse nets but wanted to see the long net in action again, my fault then moved on to a large warren and just used purse nets as the ground was to snaggy and caught ten more for the pot . 19 in all, and the longnet and dog done the biz so very happy with the day out attachment=30143:tn_S6000attachment=30140:tn_S6000125.JPG]1 3.JPG][ Quote Link to post

Guest dotty
next time put the net up/across the bank. the rabbit has no reason to run across a the track into a big open field. it will run along the hedge into the next warren, so thats where you put the longnet to cut it off. john hubery 9
Pigeon phil good post theres nothing like catching rabbits in a net you made yourself, makes it all worth while does'nt it Quote Link to post
Guest dotty
on the warren on the bank did any go anywhere near the top and bottom nets. if not you could try(on a big warren like that)putting it down the middle of the warren. Quote Link to post
