Yeah tempting Greg but for me no stress enjoy my hobby I'll play it right. I know the Wife would be shitting herself about it if I sky rocketed it.

I would have had to not tell anybody no even you Guys on here Lol. f**k me I was so made up I wanted to shout it from the highest hill.

I would be chuffed to f**k if the British Museum bought it and knew it was on display there.

Cheers Arry

i can understand if it's of historical importance just didn't realise it was all treasure over 300 years (just looked it up)really nice find though i wonder what the story behind the ring is did she lose it and was broken hearted at losing it or was she jilted and broken hearted and threw it

My guess Greg is she or he loses it at harvest time or ploughing as it's in the middle of a field. Gold is gold and aways worth something. Think if you were throwing it it I think you would throw it into a pond or in a river from a bridge.

Yeah I always wonder even if I find a coin how it was lost and the circumstances and how it might have impacted on their lives with the lose.

Not sure Kanny to be honest I hope British Museum buys it for a fair price. I never sold anything except a scrap little gold watch and I did that local. This is a different kettle of fish.

Just have to wait and see. It's the waiting thats going to be the only drawback as far as I can see.

It's a nice little piece mate ,my personal feeling is you will get it back, as nice as it is its not particularly rare or significant enough to warrant a museum piece?  But what do I know lol , cracking little find mate , good luck 👍🏻

What carat gold will that be Arry ? Is it Ratner quality? 🤣

Have you found any tin mine tokens? Or is that further down from you ,where they do a decent pastie and put the jam and cream in the right order?

I'd want to keep it ,but wouldn't want to give the farmer a Grand? I'd guess it's worth 1500 to 2000k ? Only going by the ones I've seen valued on metal detecting forums ?
