Arry 21,790
Out on a ripped up rape field today not easy as ground so uneven. Nearly gave up seem barren then in a corner hit on a Elizebeth 1st 1561 hammered. Then this coin which I don't know what it is almost looks Russian. I have rubbed a pencil over it to high light details. Any ideas guys??? Double headed eagle. Then picked up couple of flints. One on the left I think is a small scraper the other I think is a leaf shaped arrow head with the tip missing. Cheers Arry

Ive loads of ferreting and lamping permission on friends farms around Cheshire so would be keen to do some I started with the Minelab Vanquish 540 and found loads of stuff including hammered. I know others that like the Garett 250 but I cant speak for that one myself. I have now got the Minelab Equinox 800 which Darren off the forum managed to pick me up a hardly used one second hand at a very good price. Many thanks to him for that. The Equinox 800 commonly know as the Nox is a good machine that a lot of people seem to end up with and I probably will stay with it to be honest. The 540 is very easy to use and if conditions are right just switch on and go, I like the ground damp will pick up stuff at good depth. It all takes a bit of learning to listen to the tones ie very low tones are usually iron high clear tones non ferris. Having said that I still dig the odd plough shear. Loads on YouTube. The head phones that come with the 540 are plug in ones and I found having to take them off each time to dig a deep dig a pain, so upgraded to bluetooth set and I would recommend that. A pointer is almost a must and I find the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT the best. Cheap one just don't cut the mustard. The roughneck shovel is good for the digging. Warning its very additive Lol. Hope this help mate. Cheers Arry
