Diabetes Conundrum

Recommended Posts

I have been Diabetic for a good few years now, Controlled by a mixture of tablets and insulin injections.  Here's the Conundrum, A while ago i developed a Kidney infection that knocked me down for three days, Lost a stone and a half, Never eat a thing, Now you would expect to suffer from Hypo`s as your body is not taking in any food, But this does not happen, Your body somehow stops this from happening by releasing stored sugar in your body, In other words it knows you are not well and compensates, I talked this trough with my GP, And she says its a well Known thing, Surly research could identify how the body does this and a treatment could be found that in effect would cure type 2 diabetes. Or is it a case of the treatment currently used is more profitable for the the drug companies than a cure would be?

Your doctor gets paid extra funds for each diabetic on his books so they changed the parameters of what classes as diabetes a few years back but as ken says type two is upto you to put right get some exercise and a decent diet sorry ?

Isn’t the cure to type two Diabetes to have a lifestyle change ? Diet, drinking more exercise etc ?

Not always the case,  It has been proven to hereditary and not just down to lifestyle. They are still unsure what causes the Pancras to slow down or stop producing enough insulin. meaning that the sugar is not absorbed into the cells correctly. The result is a weight gain as the excess is stored as fat. usually around the waist. My grandma was 8 stone wet through and as thin as bean pole but still developed it as did my father and brother.

So if i stopped drinking 10 to 12 pints a night and didn't come home with either an Indian or Chinese takeaway. also walked instead of getting a lift, Then all would be fine ?? Joking aside the point of the post is, It would appear that more effort has gone in to treating the condition rather than finding a way to cure it. Is this not another case of profit and greed over what is best for humanity. It would appear to be the way the word has shifted, Government's no long rule countries, its the money men, You only have to turn the TV on to see that, The markets have dictated our new prime ministers policy since she won the election from her party members.

Isn't that the truth, A local farmer sold a big chunk of his land for housing, Raked in 70 million odd quid. You would have thought he would be happy with that wouldn't you?.

No he has decided, Him and another developer want to build 70 houses on the edge of the village, How much money do people want, More to the point how much do they actually need, The biggest threat to the future of mankind is his own greed.

I don't rate the NHS at all, especially with this kind of thing - I think the most knowledgeable practitioners are earning more money at private practices.

I paid a monthly figure for 2 of my diabetic grandparents to visit a private GP - The results were worth every penny........ Dietary advice, exercise advise and prescriptions were tailored to their needs and, I'm convinced that it all added years to their lives.

My advice is to pay a little extra (it's not a huge amount) and dodge those shit NHS services

Good luck

Read this on Twitter from a doctor …

If you have type 2 diabetes, you’re at a point where ANY form of digestible carbohydrates cannot be handled by your body. It is effectively poison. You should not consume carbs until you fix your severe insulin resistance.

That’s the fastest way to reverse T2D and come off meds.

You have to get off the carbs. I have several friends/family members who have got T2D under control by eating a keto diet. A couple even got there marker to below a pre-diabetic range.

there’s lots of information about following a keto diet available now as it’s very popular, even GP’s will suggest a low carb diet now.
