Late

You lucky barstewards. All we ever got to do was a day out in Blackpool with uncle Jimmy's Blackpool taxi run. That's me in the front seat

We used to go to  West Bay most years ,camping .Back then it was a quiet seaside hamlet with few tourists .I’d be fishing almost most days ,off the jetty for mackerel .Catch one use it for bait and so

There’s still some cracking places down the south west, I often just have a cheeky look for old churches and such and there are still some really pretty little hamlets and villages.

Always fancied living there but it just didn’t work out like that….still, you never know, I’m only ever one spare of the moment decision away from most things ! Lol

Nice bit of nostalgia there all. Similar story here although we tended to stay in chalets, Dad hates caravans!  (did that make us posh?) Anyway snorkelling, rockpooling, fishing, polystyrene body boards, and there was a cracking outdoor Lido at one place with high diving boards and slides, plus ice cream, and fish and chips of course! ...Also the God squad were sometimes at the beach and too be fair their puppet shows were great entertainment for children!!

Family holidays for us in the early 70s was the Beachome caravan site at cleethorpes with cousin's and the lot decending on the place always found plenty to do.
