Deker 3,478
Hi, Deker - not sure what you mean - I have not been doing anything with it other than screw it on my rifle and fire it - perhaps you can be a little more specific? Cheers. Knifebar - in my limited experience it is a nice round. It has greater range and more knockdown power than a .22LR. That said, the rounds are expensive and it is relatively noisy. In terms of cost, the rifle was about £500 I think, the mod was £30 and the scope was £150. All in all a bit less than I spent on my .22LR - an Anschutz carbine. The biggest difference for me is when buying bullets as if you are used to the low cost of .22LR subsonics, the .17HMR rounds make you wince! DS - Glad you like the scope. It isn't an expensive one but it is working well! Regards, Snelly. Hi Snelly ...the moderator....blast residue seems to be coming out of the joint at the front..have you had it apart..perhaps it was just not tightened up enough during manufacturer. Either that or maybe you have been firing into a very strong wind! Cheers i have a sak and it does the same thing mate. the blast residue leaks out the front and back abit. no matter how tight you do it up. i dont use it anymore as i have a dm80 now on mine. the hmr does burn the inside of the sak abit after alot of use. but i found it done a good job on the hmr. but not up to the same build as the dm80 that is the best mod ive tryed on hmr. soild build, easy to clean, and made just for the 17 bullet. so no leaks. Jamie g Manufacturing tolerences I suspect, I always got a little (at both ends as you say) but nothing like this much. The SAK is cheap but I've always found them quite good. How much is the DM80, I got rid of my HMR and only run a .22LR at the moment but intend to get a .22WM to fill the gap between the LR and my centrefires. Are they ok for these? Cheers Deker Quote Link to post

garyw 0
DEKER. YOUR BIPOD IS THE RIGHT WAY,LEGS SHOULD FACE TOWARDS THE MUZZLE WHEN FOLDED AWAY. THE REASON FOR THIS IS SO YOU CAN LEAN SLIGHTLY INTO THE RIFLE [sLIGHT FORWARD PRESSURE].THIS GIVES IT MORE RIGIDITY. IF YOU HAVE LEGS THE OTHER WAY THEY CAN FOLD UP ON YOU WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS WITH A LOADED RIFLE.I KNOW SOME FOLKS HAVE THEM THE OTHER WAY BUTS THATS THERE CHOICE. garyw Quote Link to post

Cheers Deker dave the guy that makes the dm80 can make them for any rifle mate. jonty a guy ive been out shooting with off the bbs has one on his cz 222 and it does a cracking job on keeping the boom down. they are £65 pound for the 22lr and hmr im not sure how much they are for the bigger cal rifles. about £70 to £ i think but im not sure mate. best thing to do is ask dm80. i think he comes on here but not sure. i no he is on the bbs so try there if you can get hold of him on here. About all I know of them is that DM is Dave Mercer, a friend of mine has one on his Hornet but that came second hand with the rifle and he knows nothing about them. So...anyone know how to contact DM or anyone know a distributor etc? Quote Link to post
