gilly-93 31
At the end of the day gilly-1993 has asked for advise of what bird is best for him. It dont matter what anybody says he will get whatever bird he feels is best for him. As for weekend birds there's no such thing now the hell do you expect to get anywhere flying just weekends its like having a dog and only letting it out the kennel once a week I haven't got time for ****s like that. cheers for this reply i dont no what to do now lol might just leave it all Quote Link to post
Kat 3
Hi Gilly, its hard to fit life in these days let alone a bird thats going to rely and depend on you 24/7 etc. But I can understand the fact that you would really like a bird. There's been some good suggestions and some thoughtless comments lol but what you really need right now is experience. I suggest you keep reading as much as possible and asking as many questions as you need answered and try and get yourself some weekend/holiday work at a centre or hook up with an experienced practising falconer and do some grovelling in the hope that what you put in might be rewarded with him/her mentoring you. Theres so much you need to put in place before your first bird arrives so dont start off at a disadvantage, get some grafting done and id ask for experience days for the next few birthday & xmas pressies! good luck Quote Link to post
Guest bigredbusa
gilly , i know nothing about birds but it seems to be that a harris is the way to go by the amount of replies. i am taking a trip down my local raptor sanctuary this weekend and getting some 'fly time' so to speak and learn more about whats involved before i commit myself to one. hope this helps a little Quote Link to post
