Now, he just wants to chuck a bible and a koran in there. Watch the place destroy itself.

Actually, Wolfie, I have just such a set up here myself. He's right, they do take some time to evolve themselves. But, yeah, I too have been fascinated how shit spontaneously appears, feeds and replicates.

Ye wouldn't believe how many weird and obscure little life forms now slink, slither and scuttle for cover, amongst the dense, self perpetuating vegetation in there. It truly is a wonder to behold. Every time I open the door and the little light goes on :ninja:

Always better having clean up crews in vivs and that plus natural plants. I used to laugh on fish tank groups when they would dose loads of co2 in to feed the live plants not realising they were just overdosing them.

Getting it all going correct like that is a real skill in itself

Yeah reminds me of the guys in catfishing groups with their bait tanks constantly scrapping algae cleaning filters removing dead fish. Made my aquaponics tank and it's basically self caring. Added a placo catfish and he takes care of the algae, the bullhead catfish eats any dead fish , and the Goldie's and shiners take care of any mosquitos.

The plants take care of filtering the water and even have red worms living in the gravel media. A beautiful thing when it all just works
