A lot don't get to choose the hospitals they work in when they first get here tats, the NHS either recruit direct or through recruitment agencies and place them where they are needed, most immigrant nurses I have met wanted to work in London, but some drew the short straw and got to work with Sandy

I didn't know that mate. It's a sad state this country has become though when even in the care sector the care home the wife work's in the owner is struggling to staff it with English carers.

Brit government now do a carer visa, they are bringing foreign staff in to cover the shortage.

Yes that's what the Indian owner of the care home the old woman works in is doing though they must have basic English before he employes them though most of them are on the night shift and he bollocks them if he ears them babbling in their own language around the elderly clients and the English staff.

Yes mate, I think an IELTS is a prerequisite as part of the visa, English language skills are a must, there was a case a few years back, african doctor with really bad English killed a patient due to miscommunication.
