Mrs Gaspode 0
I think its a bit easier to go along with the scottish hunts, since weve had the ban a while now. I went along to the renfrewshire meet and really enjoyed my day. It was amazing. Managed to talk to a nice couple who pointed a few things out, but we forgot to take the damn binoculars I got the blame of that for rushing hubby, ok so it was my fault he couldnt get out of bed in time lazy buggr think im hooked now though
Foxgun Tom 75
Glad you enjoyed your day your right when you say there are a some nice people at the meets and I'm sure you'l enjoy many more days out with the L&R. On the downside its a pity that the commitee of the L&R stated at a private meeting I attended!! "that they did not want to be associated with Lurcher and Terrier men" and described them as "that sort of person" a member of the commitee, who was there!! is a representative of the FMWTC and declined to comment on that quote, as he is also a master of the hunt, It seems for some people the wearing of a red jacket is more of a status symbol than working your Terriers Tom
madhunter 16
tom if they dont like terrier men how the feck are they going to get fox,s out there hole,s Also it,s mainly lurcher men and terrier men who do the the gun,s for the fecking wankers
Foxgun Tom 75
Totally agree I worked JR Terriers for 20 years, and was also a gun for the L&R Hunt and when I attended the meeting I mentioned earlier, my services as a gun were dispensed with, because I had a forum on www.thelanarkshireandrenfrewshirehunt.com which included comments from Lurcher and Terrrier men, and the Hunt commitee were horrified that these type of people (of which I'm one) could make comments about hunting in general on a website that could be associated with them??????. I attended that meeting with the sole purpose of handing the website over to the hunt!!!!! But, when they dispensed with my services and made the comments about Lurcher and Terrier men I thought "f@ck it"!!. I was not prepared to dump Lurcher and Terrier men and their views for a bunch of Tw@ts!!, the website remains independant and will alway's support and endorse Lurcher and Terrier work. Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Tom-The attitude of our local pack has certainly changed since the BAN.If you read my introduction you will know who I mean. When digging the fox, anywhere ,was the norm and I mean anyones land any type of hole, the hunt was usually out of terriers by mid-morning and relied on amature terriermen for back up dogs.We did this willingly of course but now the bans here ,every fox is dug in secrecy.Fair play some will saybut my point is that if everybody had contined hunting as normal and not be dictated to we wouldnt have this us and them with insults traded behind your backs. Its no wonder some of the local lads are on an all out fox slaughter. Guest Corkonian
Why are the foxes dug in secrecy? I thought ye're allowed dig? It's the hunting with the full pack of hounds that's banned - sad how the horsey set can twist things :realmad:

Ps: I'm not suggesting every hunt is anti Lurcher and Terrier men I'm relating my experience of one of the hunts I've dealt with THE LANARKSHIRE AND RENFREWSHIRE FOXHOUNDS, for them there is a division of them and us :realmad: Tom
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
what seems to be happening with the B---f--t is extreme jealousy over the right to dig a fox, they have always been posh twats, but now this is coupled with the beleif that every fox in the local country belongs to them.Digging is legal providing the landowner has a valid reason to kill a fox-ie-game birds requiring protection. The secrecy comes from guarding these spots and farms from the commen or garden terrierman, which is ajoke as we have the same permission anyway.!.Since killing with hounds is banned the only dog work legally available is the terrier, hense the posh twats gathered around a dig .As to the dictatorship ,what do you think this goverment is?.If the ban is ever lifted some serious bridge building will need to be done if hunting were to get back to normal.foxdropper
whitewarrior 0
hell fire slim u know some big words dont u worry about the b--u-o-t hunt between us we have half there country in our permission and it was a hunting land owner today who told me to have the fox out of a drain on his land as the huntsman was more intrested in keeping the mounted followers galloping than true pest control and providing a service to farmers
