saved a girl who was either being raped...or was about to be..not sure if the guy had got it in her...

I had one of them when walking my spaniel in fields near my home after an afters shift. They were only about 15 or 16 and two lads were coaxing a drunken girl away from her friends. It was obvious what they were planning. They both got a  scutch and I took the girl to her parents. Barstewards!

I don’t think I have ever saved a life but I’m one of them who is on a cosmic collision course with odd situations……car accidents, people falling down in the street, street robbery, various random casualties, mental health issues, vagrants, lost children…..they just seem to find me and I have to stop and get involved.

You are missing a trick Wilf. Some people get paid for that sort of thing.

P.s.  Don't ever go to Sunderland. It will end in tears.

I know everyone’s different mate but I have never understood adult men walking past these type of situations…..I couldn’t look at myself right.

The other week was a young bloke who fell out the pub in the middle of the afternoon, absolutely battered, smashed his head on the pavement and was laying unconscious….stopped my car in the road and got out, got him into recovery while 200 shopkeepers and pedestrians stood and watched or walked past.

Just a young lad who had drunk way too much on a very hot day and come a cropper, nasty head cut but brought him round, got him out the road and sat down propped against a wall…..went a got a bottle of cold water, asked a bloke to stay with him while I went but he wouldn’t !!…..at least the shop keeper didn’t charge me for the water !!

Anyway, kept him hydrated and a family member happens along before I could call an ambulance and got him up and took him home.

Stuff like that happens to me all the time mate.

Last time I was up there was for a funeral,an old friend had simply had enough, jumped from the A19 bridge, just before his memorial I went to the road he landed on and lit a big candle, went to the memorial then decided to go back to the road to say bye before returning to Surrey, some f****r had only nicked the candle, a f***ing candle, I should have nailed it down.

Pulled a fella out of a river onto a boat that was a goner if we hadn't of come across him, he'd all but give up and was just staring up at us through 4 feet of peaty coloured water.

Lost count over the years gone by of how many OD's iv'e brought back but well over a dozen or more ,had a few very bad car accidents i jumped in on and pulled folks out of. I myself can't even watch a puppy being jabbed but i have put my hands into a wound and held a bust artuary together so the victim didn't bleed out, messy old do that was and i have said to my misses before why is it always me this sort of shit happens to?,she replied it happens because you can deal with it where as lots of folks haven't a clue what to do. Fecking great so this sort of shit ain't ever going to end then  ...

I pulled a lad out of a weir pool by us .Unfortunately he never made it .He was dared to slide down the run off .The current took him under and span him unconscious .

I was walking the dogs .His face still with me 26 years later .His mates just watched in silence ?

I pulled another lad out of a collapsed trench when a dumper came in on us back open the days of no health and safety checks .Handbreak failed and dumper full of sand came in on us as we levelled it over a gas pipe .

I scrambled out then realised Kev was under the thing .A clay bank had come in saving him from being hit direct by the dumper .

He wriggled I pulled then the lot went in .

Mate saved my life when digging a terrier in sand .Bank collapsed on me from above .He pulled me out by my legs .Very cold and silent under that lot ?
