The one 8,479
You might have more chance winning the lottery than getting shooting on a hunting site mate everybody is after the same thing 2 Quote Link to post
Timmy H 432
Sorry Mark, but no one is just going to give you land to shoot on. You're completely unknown, any landowner will want to know whether you're experienced or a beginner, do you know the rules concerning pest control? Are you insured for 3rd party liability? Your best chance is to join a club or ask local farmers if they have somewhere you can practice. Alternatively, try and befriend someone who already shoots and you may get help that way but just asking for land on here is a waste of time. 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 4,998
I am just over the river from you Mark and can tell you that there are plenty of opportunities but yo need to find them. Try to take a different approach not going for the same old thing, pigeon and rabbit shooting, try crow and rat problems which a farmer may have or feral pigeon crapping on farm vehicles, try industrial units where feral pigeon might be a pest........................ in other words look outside the box because everyone will be going for the same thing. One other thing, ask everybody you know and I mean everyone because it is surprising how many people know or have a relative who owns, uses, a friend of etc, land owners, farmers, allotments, churches etc etc. I have given perms away in the past to people who turned out to be grade 'A' twats and taken people out who have contacted the farmer / landowners to try and get the perm themselves, not successfully I might add so they wil not be invited again. With these things in mind, you will not be given land but you can always ask for advice and help. Phil 3 Quote Link to post
