It would be like a lot of that old stuff it just gets shortened down to " go and answer the dog "......" thats a nice kettle " etc etc.....i think regional dialect is great whether its the Jocks,Northerners or wherever.....its something that should be kept alive in my opinion.

My brother uses a lot of rhyming slang that may not relate to the cockney.

Just a couple that relate to going to sea to fish:

"Couldn't get out today, bit to Billy" ( Billy goat gruff...rough).

Or " it was to Mork" ( Mork and Mindy......windy).

Of course, "Billy" should never get confused with "nanny", as in "nanny goat... coat " !
