Guest from Ireland gets two firsts

Saturday evening saw me headed off to a block of perms ,3 farms together that I have in search of a roe buck cull for an Irish non paying guest .Relation of a mate of mine over here with his cousin .

Not long out the truck when I spotted a roe deers head in the thermal that turned out to be the perfect cull head .Tiny 4 pointer .

Got to within 90 m and set up the sticks for my guest to shoot off when he obliged and stood up to be killed with a heart shot .

Chap was over the moon as they don’t have roe where he is nor muntjac .

Next morning it was to a wood rented by a mate where the chance of a muntie is better than average .Approaching the wood in the half light I saw a buck running a doe hard .She wasn’t into it as much as she was and she kept stopping to face him .Anyway decided the guest would take him too as despite the body weight he was a 4 pointer and these never go on to make much imo .

Killed him at 150m with my tikka243.

Into the woodland found a nice opening for a call with the buttalo .Guest on sticks facing the cover opposite .Few peeps and a muntie buck came in fast ,jammed on the brakes in line with the rifle and sealed his fate .

 

Next morning 

 The guest was proper made up and invited myself and the wood perm lad over to Wicklow for a sika come the rut .Win ,win .
