socks 32,253 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Share Posted January 24, 2008 depending on how badly torn they are i cut them off the healing process is a lot quicker as the risk of infection getting inside a healing cut is negated and if the dog doesnt have a stopper hanging off then it cant catch it on anything .... if you take them off it has to be done immediately after they have been damaged .............. this bitch was running again with no probs in less than 2 weeks .......... Ossie 11 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Share Posted January 24, 2008 not much you can do to make them heal faster - you can make them look healed quickly, but they'll still split. Gyp did his right one, split down the middle, i left it 3 weeks & it looked healed, took him out & he split it again. i got some of that self-adhesive bandage stuff for horses, and i strap him up with that now, just to be on the safe side.
