I grew Black Russian 3 years ago and they were one of the best that i have ever eaten but a very poor cropper which i think that many outdoor Heritage Toms are. The ones i grew this year were three different strains of Red Blight resistant types and the black ones were among them .

chartpolski 24,790
Never grew the black variety, but did grow the chocolate variety one year. Contrary to the name, they don't taste of chocolate, they just have chocolate brown skins. I've had a great crop this year from plants I was given off a lad on the Allotments. Various types, all doing well; Cheers. Edited August 31, 2022 by chartpolski
jok 3,364
Good afternoon Charts. Nice looking crop. I’m doing a heck of a lot of both red and green tomato chutney. It’s flying out the door. Nice little touch as well is adding 3/4 chillis. Lovely. Jok.
