I wont be dragged into the argument of right vs wrong but my main thought and concern on this matter is the FUTURE........the incoming tide of immigrants is far greater than anyone expected. At present we are just starting to feel the effects of immigrant employment (in the main)

Personally i would like to be living in another country......not nescessarily because of the the foreigners but because of the british......the ones running the country, the government. They are the problem.

I actually work with a lot of Romanians, Poles and Hungarians.......they didn't leave their country because of their government.

As for the rest, most of these immigrants are here for a better life for themselves and families, pay is better, work is everywhere mainly because their own government is shit and they are treated like shit due to their economy and also in some countries where mass killing has occured. I did say most, but as in all walks of life we have the scroungers, benefit fraud, murderers,rapists and child abusers and we do a fine job of breeding those in this country alone...as like others on here, i don't like it and it should be dealt with, but on the other hand maybe we should wish them well...lets face it if the government does nowt about it then what do you expect..if it's there to be taken then someones gonna take it...most of this is also about your rights ..apparently everyone has got them.....unless you are born and bred in this country of course, then it's back to the end of the line for you matey and your case would probably end right there, in case it might offend someone, but i stand by what i said earlier, if your a worker, abide by the rules, pay into the system then good luck to you are welcome.....

Well my 21 yr old son is a lazy good for nothing slob who sponges off his paternal grandparents bleeding them dry to be blunt he disgusts me , he may be flesh & blood but thats basically what he is, a drugged up drunk who will never amount to anythink , the only thing i thank him for is he hasnt made me a grandmother as i woudnt like any child to be born into that lifestyle.

 

I tried with him, circumstances at the time ment i had to work fulltime due to my ''exhusbands '' alcohol dependency , so it ment my beautifull baby son was cared for by his paternal grandmother who doted on him. sadly there paying for it big time now as he refused to go on courses the job centre sent him on while he was getting job seekers .

 

That stopped he will not work , refuses to get a job, he dosses on the floor , he looks a mess & all he does all day is drinks & takes drugs, i have not seen him for months , his life revolves round a play station & a mobile phone thats never switched on , he still has christmas prescents here he hasnt even bothered to collect.

 

Its his loss not mine

The mention of colour came, because i can see the way this thread thread is going. Its going exactly the same way as all the other biggotted , racist shite, that perpetuates this particular column, and if you had been a member for more than 5 minutes, you would be able to remember some of the absolutely disgusting, vile, and downright illegal comments regarding race, colour, and immigrants. There are members here who are mixed race, or partners are black, coloured, foreign, whatever, why should they have to read this shite?

it is a sad state with people (all types) these days who just don't want to work, people blame the parents but it's not always the case. I do a lot of work on council properties and the amount of people who won't let us in at 8am to do work is quite shocking! i'm not taring all council tenants with the same brush as there are a lot who are brilliant but the amount of scumbags who just sit around all day cause they get everything paid for is annoying just an example was doing a job the other day (i'm a plumber with council contracts) and the guy was playing balls on the phone to the council about cracks in his drive which the council had filled with cement but he wasn't happy as he wanted a new drive my mate asked him where he worked and he replied " i tried for a job once down the road but i didn't get it" wtf? new car, big tv, leather settee? the guy was only 30yrs old

Well my sons not lived here for around 4 yrs now but as i am told the first 5 yrs of a childs life are the ones when a child takes in the most knowledge & i am to blame for not taking the reigns & kicking his pissed head father out sooner, the odd thing is i have never been able to imagine my son all grown up & i have never been able to have thoughts in my head as to what he would be like as an adult.

I dont think it would have been any different if i had stayed at home & signed on, i had to work as my then husband didnt think he had to pay any bills, his wages were for him , but what i should have done was not let him hang around , booted the idiot out yrs before i did , then maybe i could have been a '' at home mom'' .

 

I sometimes wonder if it stems from me not bonding with him , he was looked after by nurses for 2 days as i had a difficult time having him & a few problems after , so i was pretty doped up for the first few days & couldnt feed him myself, but thats probably just me looking for excuses

There are some excellent points being raised now.This is the type of ADULT discussion that the GOVERNMENT should be having.

This country is rapidly falling apart, and there are allsorts of blame apportioned to it, not least the eastern bloc moving en-masse to these shores...who,s fault is that? its not theirs, they want what we have, a decent standard of living, a house and a job, who can blame a man for that? if he,s willing to work hard for it, and pay his tax, he,s welcome here in my book. In fact, if it was my choice, for every man like that, i would swap him for one of the hooded chav idle b*****ds, that drain my tax, health , and pension fund every day, they have no intention of ever working, they just take, take , take. Of course there are people like that also coming here from abroad, i,m not that niaeve, and yes, i would say we are now full to burstin, but again, thats not the incomers fault...its our governments.

I feel really sorry for the people who,s wages and jobs are being undercut by migrant workers. Thats not fair, but again, its not the migrants fault.....its the fault of the greedy b*****d who employs them, then lay off workers they have afforded to pay for years. Thats not good buisness...its pure greed, but what goes round surely comes round.

That comment doesn,t apply to the people who employ immigrants, because the british wont take the work by the way, fair play to them.

 

Regarding the health service that Andrea mentions, yes there are health "tourists" but most are actually made to pay, via the tab being picked up by the country of origin....no not all pay, but there again, thats down to our nhs not chasing hard enough.I fully take your point, our health service cant cope with this extra work, but i know i couldn,t turn down an injured child, or anyone else for that matter who genuinly needed help, they are just another human being thats suffering.

I know the score in the nhs, my wife is a sister at the northern general in Sheffield, and its falling apart.

 

So whats the answer to all this country,s ills? hell i dont know? but i do know that hatred of another man,s life, culture colour or creed got the world into deep shit twice last century, and it most certainly is not, the answer.

The wife reckons so Andrea? I believe its simple if they are EU citizens, its not so simple if they are from the rest of the world, but apparently the NHS does try, and succeeds, in a lot of cases. There are bound to be a fair few that get away though, it stands to reason, as the NHS has all on to see to the day to day stuff, some of the tales the wife tells me are absolutely unreal, and frighten me to be honest.Bupa suddenly doesn,t look so bad.
